Maria Carabajal, Rotary Club of Commerce City - Club President 2021-2022

My passion is helping the community!  I am proud of my roots and homegrown to Commerce City and attended Adams 14 School District where I met my husband and we both attended Adams 14 School District and both grew up in the southern area of Commerce City and currently live in the Northern area of Commerce City.  Graduated from Adams City High School and have been a Rotarian since 2008 and have held positions as Youth Advisor, Club Service, Past-President (2015-2016), and current Club President.

Goals this year! 2020 has been a challenging year for most individuals, clubs, and organizations, and my goal this year is to reconnect with our club members, our partners and have fun while continuing to raise funds for our programs that support the community and Rotary International.

Our club has two major fundraisers that help support our projects and the community!

Peaches:
Our club sells Palidase Peaches each year in July-August and funds raised help support our mission to raise funds for scholarships & opportunities for deserving students and families in the Commerce City community.

Golf Tournament:  Friday, August 27, 2021
Our tournament is in partnership with Adams 14 Education Foundation and our mission is to provide scholarships to students in the Adams 14 School District with either a four-year college degree or in some cases attending trade school.  For 28 years, Commerce City Rotary Foundation has provided scholarships to over 50+ students and our golf tournament provides the fundraising making it possible to share “The Gift of Education”.

We are back to meeting live and in-person and meet every Wednesday at noon at El Jardin Mexican Restaurant located in Commerce City.
