Message to our community:
We are saddened by the recent loss of life and the cycle of violence that has occurred in the aftermath of the recent officer-involved death of Mr. George Floyd, an unarmed African American man in Minneapolis.
We are saddened by the injustices many Americans endure due to the color of their skin or some other human difference that, in the eyes of some, makes them less equal. We are also saddened that hard working law enforcement officials who serve our community with professionalism, are unfairly judged by the actions of a few.
At the Commerce City Rotary, we are uniquely proud of the rich diversity of our club and our community. We believe that our differences make us stronger, more resilient and more relevant. And we are grateful to the officers, deputies and other emergency responders who serve and protect our community every day.
At this difficult time in our nation’s history, we add our collective voice to the call to end racism and other acts of discrimination. At the Commerce City Rotary Club, we know our nation is stronger when all people are treated with respect and equality.
